I don’t know much about much, including and not limited to poetry. The epiphany I had recently was that (what I like to call) poems topple out of me when I find myself brimming with emotions or ideas I don’t know what (else) to do with. The outcome usually manifests in a few lines of rhyme; mostly very simple and raw; and often edited very little. What gets penned down as a somewhat staccato expression of emotion definitely ends up being cathartic and in that, a satisfactory end in itself.
